Call for PapersIFIP IDMAN 2013 - 3rd IFIP WG 11.6 Working Conference onPolicies & Research in Identity ManagementLondon, UK, 8th-9th April 2013www.idman2013.comBackgroundBuilding on the success of IDMAN 2007 and 2010 (which were heldin Rotterdam and Oslo, respectively), this conference focuseson the theory, technologies and applications of identitymanagement. IFIP IDMAN 2013, the 3rd IFIP WG 11.6 WorkingConference on Policies & Research in Identity Management, willtake place between the 8th and 10th of April 2013 at RoyalHolloway, University of London, UK.Conference scopeThe world of the 21st century is, more than ever, global and impersonal. Asa result of increasing cyber fraud and cyber terrorism, the demand forbetter technical methods of identification is growing, not only in companiesand organisations but also in the world at large. Moreover, in our societydigital identities increasingly play a role in the provision of eGovernmentand eCommerce services. For practical reasons, Identity Management Systemsare needed that are usable and interoperable. At the same time, individuals increasingly leave trails of personal datawhen using the Internet, which allows them to be profiled and which may bestored for many years to come. Technical trends such as Cloud Computing andpervasive computing make personal data processing non-transparent, and makeit increasingly difficult for users to control their personal spheres. Aspart of this tendency, surveillance and monitoring are increasinglypresent in society, both in the public and private domains. Whilst the originalintention is to contribute to security and safety, surveillance andmonitoring might, in some cases, have unintended or even contradictoryeffects. Moreover, the omnipresence of surveillance and monitoring systemsmight directly conflict with public and democratic liberties. These developments raise substantial new challenges for privacy and identitymanagement at the technical, social, ethical, regulatory, and legal levels.Identity management challenges the information security research communityto focus on interdisciplinary and holistic approaches, while retaining thebenefits of previous research efforts.Topics for papersPapers offering research contributions to the area of identity managementare solicited for submission to the 3rd IFIP WG-11.6 IDMAN conference.Papers may present theory, applications or practical experience in thefield of identity management, from a technical, legal orsocio-economic perspective, including, but not necessarily limited to:o Novel identity management technologies and approacheso Interoperable identity management solutionso Privacy-enhancing technologieso Identity management for mobile and ubiquitous computingo Identity management solutions for eHealth, eGovernmeant andeCommerceo Privacy and Identity (Management) in and for cloud computingo Privacy and Identity in social networkso Risk analysis techniques for privacy risk and privacy impactassessmento Privacy management of identity managemento Identity theft preventiono Attribute based authentication and access controlo User-centric identity managemento Legal, socio-economic, philosophical and ethical aspectso Impact on society and politicso Related developments in social tracking, tracing and sortingo Quality of identity data, processes and applicationso User centered, usable and inclusive identity managemento Attacks on identity management infrastructureso Methods of identification and authenticationo Identification and authentication procedureso Applications of anonymous credentialso (Privacy-preserving) identity profiling and fraud detectiono Government PKIso (Possible) role of pseudonymous and anonymous identity in identitymanagemento Electronic IDs: European and worldwide policies and cooperation inthe field of identity managemento Surveillance and monitoringo (Inter)national policies on unique identifiers /social securitynumbers / personalisation IDso Vulnerabilities in electronic identification protocolso Federative identity management and de-perimeterisationo Biometric verificationo (Inter)national applications of biometricso Impersonation, identity fraud, identity forge and identity thefto Tracing, monitoring and forensicso Proliferation/omnipresence of identificationo Threats to democracy and political controlInstructions for paper submissionSubmitted papers must be original, unpublished, and not submitted to anotherconference or journal for consideration for publication.
