    Each year, the IASA Annual Educational Conference & Business Show offers educational and professional development opportunities for insurance industry members, associate members and other attendees. Categorized into three tracks: Accounting, Risk Management & Finance (ARF), Technology (TECH) and Career Skills Development (CSD), there are topics of interest for accounting/financial, systems/technology, investment, operations, and business-focused individuals throughout the insurance industry.

    The sessions presented each year are selected based on a process that includes submissions from a comprehensive “Call for Papers”. The Call for Papers” was created to maximize the timeliness and relevance of the educational offerings and choices available at the IASA Annual Educational Conference. The IASA “Call for Papers” is your chance to contribute your ideas to this important industry educational experience! Topics submitted for consideration must be related to insurance and financial services and should include practical applications and, when possible, real-world examples or success story presentations. The committees organizing each track of sessions are particularly interested in reviewing submissions on the following topics:

    CAREER SKILLS DEVELOPMENT (CSD)

    ACCOUNTING, RISK MANAGEMENT & FINANCE (ARF)

    Healthcare Reform Issues (including small company opt out options, costs, coverages, loss ratios)

    Model Audit Rule (retrospect and the future impact)

    The NAIC's Solvency Modernization Initiative (SMI) (including Solvency II, IFRS impact, Dodd-Frank)

    IASA strives to enhance the knowledge of insurance industry professionals, and participants from similar organizations closely allied with the insurance industry, by facilitating the exchange of ideas and information. As a result, the goal for these presentations is to provide attendees with an opportunity to learn by sharing real-life examples from leaders within the insurance and financial services industry. Submissions MUST include participation from insurance company professionals to be considered for inclusion in the 2013 program.

    DEADLINE: All submissions are due by August 31, 2012. Submissions that are selected for inclusion will be announced in November of this year to give all scheduled presenters time to prepare for the 2013 IASA Annual Educational Conference & Business Show, which will be held June 2-5, 2013 in Washington, DC. By submitting this paper you agree to have a handout available by May 17, 2013. These handouts will be posted to the IASA website for conference attendees prior to the conference.
