Wireless communications is a primary solution to delivering broadband services to rural communities. The theme of this symposium is on both new, innovative technical research as well as on the delivery of practical technical solutions in often harsh environments. We are inviting your contribution to one of the technical topics of WCITD 2010 and we welcome you to participate in the conference. Your contribution will go through the normal review process associated with a quality international conference.WIRELESS /MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMSBroadband communication systemsSatellite-based communication systemsHybrid communication systemsPower line communicationsAppropriate telecommunication technologies for developing countriesAd hoc networks for developing countriesWireless Access technologies: GSM, UMTS, CDMA, WCDMA, 4GMobile and wireless servicesRegulatory issues in wireless spectrum useChallenges in wireless communicationsWireless mesh networkingSatellite-based communication systemsMobile and pervasive healthcare applicationsWireless Sensor networks & applicationsUbiquitous and pervasive networks INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/SYSTEMSInformation technology applications for governmentinstitutionsInformation system development & applicationsInternet usage and Internet Service ProvidersMarket-oriented cloud computingICTS and its applications in rural areasE-government, E-commerce and M-commerceThe impact of IT/IS on economic developmentTechnologies for bridging the Digital DividePublic health information management systemSecurity of Online communities and forumsEnvironment monitoring systemsPrivacy in social computingEmerging ubiquitous technologiesInternational Advisory BoardEdward Knightly, Rice University, USAMohammad S.
