Call For Papers - CFP
On behalf of the CEOS SAR Calibration and Validation Workshop Local Organizing Committee, I am pleased to invite you to join us in Pasadena, CA to participate at this exciting time in the development of space borne radar. This is the first time since 1994 that NASA has sponsored this workshop, and is a signal of the renewed emphasis at NASA on SAR, including the UAVSAR, SMAP, DESDynI, and SWOT.Last year's event, held in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, was a successful meeting. There were some 120 attendees and 44 papers showcasing the performance of a number of operational space borne SAR instruments, as well as new calibration techniques. This year's theme will be "SAR in all shapes and sizes" where we focus on the cal/val aspects of the ever-growing array of international SAR missions at a multiplicity of frequencies, polarizations, and imaging styles. We are soliciting contributions in this area for the community at large, as well as a number of key invited speakers. The workshop will be discussion oriented, with an opening plenary session describing the goals of the workshop, sessions of short papers followed by ample blocks of time for discussion and coordination of activities, and a closing plenary to summarize and collect action items and recommendations. The date of the workshop is set for November 17-19, 2009. We will issue a call for papers in mid-July, and will be accepting inputs through mid-September 2009. A final program will be posted mid-October.I look forward to your participation!Best Regards,Yunling Lou UAVSAR Program Manager Suborbital Radar Group Supervisor CEOS SAR Cal/Val Workshop Organizer
