Itpromotes discussion and interaction among researchers andpractitioners about the development of maintainable systems, and theevolution, migration and reengineering of the existing ones. CSMR 2010will feature up to 10 technical research paper sessions, full-day andhalf-day workshops, an industry paper track, a tool demonstrationtrack, a doctoral symposium and a special track on European researchprojects within the field of software maintenance and reengineering.CSMR 2010 is sponsored by the Reengineering Forum (REF) with technicalco-sponsorship from the IEEE Computer Society and the IEEE technicalCouncil on Software Engineering (TCSE) and participation fromUniversidad rey Juan Carlos (URJC) and Universidad Polit=C3=A9cnica ofMadrid (UPM).TOPICSWe solicit submissions, not limited to, on the following topics ofinterest to the maintenance and reengineering community:- Tools and methods to support software architecture and product linesevolution- Techniques and approaches for software analysis, comprehension, andreconstruction- Process models for software maintenance, reengineering, and evolution- Experience reports and empirical studies on maintenance, reengineering, and evolution- Evaluation and assessment of reverse engineering and reengineeringtools- Experiences on the role of global software development indistributed maintenance teams- Description of education-related issues to evolution, maintenanceand reengineering- Case studies on maintenance and evolution of Service OrientedArchitecture-based systems- Mechanisms and techniques for reengineering systems as servicesPUBLICATION AND TYPES OF SUBMISSIONTechnical Research Papers: Research papers should describe originaland significant work in the research and practice of softwaremaintenance and reengineering. Theoretical results, case studies, empirical research and experiments are particularly welcome (10proceeding pages).Workshop Proposals: Workshop proposals should include the names andaffiliations of the organizers, a description of the topic, theintended audience, and the proposed format of the session. Once theproposal is accepted the organizers should submit a paper describingthe nature of the workshop area, related work, and its anticipatedimpact (2 proceeding pages).Industry Track Papers: The industry track papers should discussindustrial practice and experience reports describing problems (andtheir solutions) encountered in real applications. (2 proceedingspages).Tool Demonstration Track Papers: Tool demonstration track papersshould include information on the theory, models, and infrastructureof the demonstrated tool. Challenges related to the use and adoptionof the demonstrated tool should also be included (2 proceeding pages).Doctoral Symposium Papers: This year, the doctoral symposium trackwants to attract PhD students who have just started their research andthey are able to present preliminary work in progress or ideas thathave not been fully validated. PhD candidates with more solid work orin the latest stages of their research are also invited to submit aproposal. The papers should describe a summary of their research (4proceeding pages).European Project Track Papers: The European track papers should givean overview on ongoing or recently completed projects (both nationaland international) in Europe related to maintenance and/orreengineering (4 proceeding pages). All papers should adhere to the IEEE 8.5" x 11" two-column format andbe submitted electronically in PDF format at the submission sites:Technical papers:http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=3Dcsmr2010
