    The department of Mathematics came in to existence in 1st Aug., 2009. Previously, this department was a part of Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, which came in to existence in 1986. The department is supported by potential and devoted members of faculty. The research

    potential of faculties of this dept. is witnessed through published books, research papers in journals of both national and international repute and sponsored projects executed funded by various funding agencies such as CSIR, UGC and MHRD. Also, the faculty has the credit of successful guidance of Ph.D. scholars in addition to imparting teaching to B.Tech./B.Arch. and M.Tech. classes of different disciplines. More than 30 scholars have completed their Ph.D. degrees under the supervision of the faculty members of the department and at present 15 scholars are registered for Ph.D. programme. The department has the credit of organizing a national conference on Advances in Mathematics and its Applications-2008 in addition to organizing 46th ISTAM Congress in 2001 and 55th ISTAM Congress in 2010. The department is equipped with ultramodern infrastructural, computing and R&D facilities
