Women represent approximately 51% of the total population. Over the course of history, the demographics of the work force have changed significantly. Women have gradually emerged as able participants in the workforce and have even advanced to hold important roles and positions. Although progress has been made, the precipitous journey is not yet complete. Global concerns about current and future roles of women in computing occupations gained more importance with the emerging information age.International Symposium on Women in Computing and Informatics (WCI-2013) will serve as a platform to explore the opportunities as well as the diverse challenges facing women in computing and allied areas. WCI-2013 provides a great opportunity to network with students, professionals, and researchers.WCI-2013 is affiliated with Second International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI 2013).
