14 years EUSAR

EUSAR, the European Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar, is the only international conference dedicated to SAR techniques, technology and applications. EUSAR was first held in the year 1996 in Königswinter and continued every two years since then. Conference places were Friedrichshafen (1998 & 2008), Munich (2000), Cologne (2002), Ulm (2004) and Dresden (2006).

EUSAR has accompanied the worldwide evolution of high-resolution imaging radar, both air-borne and space-borne, and has helped to establish an international community of SAR engineers and scientists.

As in previous years, EUSAR 2010 will provide a forum for exchanging information and discussion on a wide variety of SAR topics, representing the latest SAR developments. You are cordially invited to participate in EUSAR 2010 and to visit the city of Aachen. Aachen is situated in an area, where the three countries of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands meet. It’s a city with impressive ancient buildings such as the cathedral, which was the first monument to be included in the UNESCO Cultural Inheritage list, and the gothic City Hall, both situated in the heart of the old city centre.

As in the past years, at the EUSAR 2010 conference about 400 oral papers will be presented including several invited papers and special sessions. The conference will be opened by a Plenary Session. It is intended to invite speakers from agencies, ministries and research institutions.

There will be also an interactive poster session. The Best Paper, Best Poster and Best Student Awards will be presented on the last day of the conference. A special event program will be organised following the tradition of the EUSAR conferences.
