Call For Papers - CFP
Second International Workshop on Optimization and Network Planning (ONPlan 2010)IWCMC2010, Caen, France, 28 June - 2 July, 2010http://www.iwcmc.com/
Scope and MotivationNext generation networks are expected to provide diverse services with enhanced QoS (e.g. seamless coverage and higher data rate) at affordable cost. Network planning and optimization will face many new challenges arising from increased network scale, diverse services with different levels of QoS requirements, coexistence of heterogeneous networks, adoption of new communication and networking technologies. The purpose of ONPlan is to bring together researchers and engineers addressing all aspects of challenges in the network planning and optimization. ONPlan seeks papers dealing with architectural issues, theoretical and simulation studies, new paradigms, enabling technologies and practical implementations for network planning and optimization.Topics of interestsThe areas of interest for ONPlan include, but are not limited to, the following:?Single-technology radio networksoArchitecture & services (B3G/4G, WiMAX, WRAN, WPAN, VANET)oRadio resource managementoQuality of services provisioning and energy efficiencyoCross-layer, scalability, automation and self-healing?Heterogeneous networksoMulti-vendor, multi-technology radio networksoCoexistence and cooperation of radio networksoConvergent fixed and mobile networks and servicesoScalability, reliability and robustness?Indoor radio networkoRepeaters, picocells and femtocellsoAutomatic configuration algorithms of femtocellsoResource, interference and mobility management in femto/macrocell?Networks with advanced technologiesoSmart antennas and distributed antenna systemsoCooperative relaying in UMTS/HSPA/LTE and WiMAX networksoCognitive radio, dynamic frequency allocationoNetwork coding?System level performance evaluationoTraffic modelling and real network traffic scenariosoSystem modelling and simulationoTestbed and experimental platformoIntegration of simulation and field measurementSubmission GuidelinesProspective authors are invited to submit original papers not exceeding six pages, including text, figures, tables, and references. Papers must be written in English and in standard IEEE conference format. All submissions will be handled electronically through the EDAS system (http://edas.info
), and must be in PDF format.Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings to be included in ACM/IEEE Digital Library (pending approval). There will be one best paper award for ONPlan2010. Selected papers will be further considered for possible publication in two special issues of Wiley Journal of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (WCMC) and International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications Systems (IJAACS).Important DatesPaper Submission Deadline: December 15 2009 Paper Acceptance Notification: March 15 2010 Camera-ready Paper Submissions: April 1 2010ONPlan ChairsDr Jianhua He Swansea University, UK.Email: j.he
