19th International Conference on Analytical and Stochastic Modelling Techniques and Applications (ASMTA'12)Grenoble, France, 4-6 June 2012http://www.comp.glam.ac.uk/asmta2012
OverviewMethods of analytical and stochastic modelling are widely used in engineering to assess and design various technical and information systems, like computer and communication networks, software systems, and distributed systems. The ASMTA conference is a main forum for advancing these techniques and their applications and aims to bring together researchers of academia and industry to discuss the latest developments in analytical, numerical and simulation algorithms for stochastic systems, including (non-) Markovian processes, queueing networks, stochastic Petri nets, process algebras, game theory, etc. The conference is co-sponsored by the IEEE UK-RI Computer Chapter and ECMS - The European Council for Modelling and Simulation. The proceedings of ASMTA'12 will be published as Springer Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series (approval pending) which is indexed by SCOPUS and ISI Web of Science.Scope & topicsASMTA 2012 solicits original contributions that include, but are not limited to, the following aspects of stochastic modelling:Techniques and algorithmsStochastic Models, Markov ModelsStochastic Petri Net ModelsQueueing Systems and NetworksGame TheoryBranching ProcessesReliability and Maintenance ModelsStochastic Optimal Control and OptimizationPerformance ModellingStochastic Process AlgebraStochastic Precedence GraphsStochastic SimulationComputationally Intensive Statistical MethodsStatistical Analysis and InferenceAnalytical and Numerical SimulationPerformance analysis toolsModelling and Specification Languages and ToolsGraphical And Textual Modelling ToolsAnalytical Solvers, Graphical Presentation ToolsApplication and evaluation studiesComputer Systems and Information NetworksWorkflow Management SystemsCommunication Systems and Networks (LANs and Distributed Systems, Routers, Switches, High Speed Networks)Wireless and Mobile Systems and Networks (WLAN, 2G-3G-4G)Ad hoc Networking and Home NetworkingPeer-to-Peer Applications and ServicesEmbedded Systems and Sensor NetworksWorkload Modelling and CharacterizationClient-Server SystemsMultimedia SystemsMeasurements and Hybrid TechniquesSoftware PerformanceSoftware ReliabilityModelling of VirtualisationPower/Performance ModellingSurvivability modellingStochastic Modelling in BioinformaticsPaper submissionFull papers reporting original and unpublished research results on ASMTA topics are solicited. Submissions should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere while being evaluated for this conference.FormattingThe proceedings will be published in the Springer Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Submissions may already be prepared in LNCS format and must not exceed 15 pages, including figures, tables and references; see the information for authors on Springer's web site for formatting instructions. Please clearly indicate the corresponding author.EasychairThe paper submission for ASMTA 2012 will only be accepted through the easychair Paper Submission System accessible here. Only papers in PDF will be accepted for reviewing. Submissions as e-mail attachment will not be accepted.ReviewingConsistent with standard practice, each submitted paper will receive rigorous peer reviewing. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Selection will be based on full papers.Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. All accepted papers in the conference are expected to be presented and will be included in the conference proceedings.Best paper awardThe ASMTA 2012 Committee will select the best paper of the conference for which a certificate will be presented at the end of the conference.Important datesFull paper submissions 1 February 2012Acceptance notification 7 March 2012Final paper plus registration and payment 28 March 2012Conference 4-6 June 2012Organising committeeGeneral chairKhalid Al-Begain (University of Glamorgan, Wales, UK)Programme chairsDieter Fiems (Ghent University, Belgium)Jean-Marc Vincent (INRIA, Grenoble, France)International Programme CommitteeSergey Andreev Tampere University of Technology, FinlandJonatha Anselmi Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, SpainKonstantin Avrachenkov INRIA Sophia-Anitipolis, FranceJeremy Bradley Imperial College London, UKHerwig Bruneel Ghent University, BelgiumGiuliano Casale Imperial College, UKHind Castel Institut Telecom-Telecom SudParis, FranceKoen De Turck Ghent University, BelgiumAlexander Dudin Belarusian State University, BelarusAntonis Economou University of Athens, GreecePaulo Fernandes Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilJean-Michel Fourneau University of Versailles, FranceRossano Gaeta University of Turin, ItalyMarco Gribaudo University of Turin, ItalyYezekael Hayel Univeristy of Avignon, FranceAndras Horvath University of Turin, ItalyHelen Karatza Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GreeceWilliam Knottenbelt Imperial College, UKLasse Leskelä University of Jyväskylä, FinlandRemco Litjens TNO ICT, The NetherlandsDon McNickle University of Canterbury, New ZealandPanayotis Mertikopoulos Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, FranceYoni Nazarathy Swinburne University of Technology, AustraliaJosé Niño-Mora Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, SpainAntonio Pacheco Instituto Superior Tecnico, PortugalBalakrishna Prabhu Laas-CNRS, FranceMatteo Sereno University of Turin, ItalyBruno Sericola INRIA Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique, FranceJanos Sztrik Lajos Kossuth University, HungaryMiklos Telek Budapest University of Technology, HungaryNigel Thomas University of Newcastle, UKCorinne Touati INRIA Grenoble, FranceDietmar Tutsch University of Wuppertal, GermanyKurt Tutschku University of Wuerzburg, GermanyBenny van Houdt University of Antwerp, BelgiumSabine Wittevrongel Ghent University, BelgiumKatinka Wolter Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany
