Call For Papers - CFP
The availability of a large variety of sensor devices, allows wireless sensor networks to be exploited in different fields using different approaches. Applications that rely on continuous, 24x7 monitoring are critical in the application areas such as the following:* Healthcare* Emergency Response* Security* Energy* Unmanned Vehicles* Homeland security* Public safetyOne major challenge faced in these applications is the interaction between the monitoring system and the human subjects who are part of the system itself. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum to share and discuss among researchers the different applications and approaches for continuous, 24x7monitoring using wireless sensor networks. We are soliciting papers describing original research on both theoretical and practical aspects of sensor networks for continuous monitoring. We particularly welcome submissions that present design, implementation and deployment results that take into account the effort to run the systems with low or minimum energy consumption.Particular topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:* Energy saving architectures* Green energy monitoring systems* Data association* Continuous authentication* Middleware and software tools* Networking architectures and protocols* Data gathering, aggregation and dissemination* Topology control* Power management and energy-efficient design* Time synchronization* Location management* Cross-layer architectures* Intelligent monitoring* Decision Support Systems* Security and dependability issues* Modeling and performance evaluation* Estimation and prediction* Monitoring sensor platforms* Social behavior analysis* Social signal processing* Action and gesture recognition* Mobile (smartphones, tablets, etc.) systems* Applications (including, but not limited to, the application areas listed above)PAPER SUBMISSIONPapers should contain original work, not published or currently under review elsewhere. Manuscripts are limited to 6 pages. EasyChair will be used for paper submission. All papers accepted for workshops will be included in the ANT-2014 proceedings, which will be published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will be indexed by Scopus (http://www.scopus.com
) and by Thomson Reuters' Conference Proceeding Citation Index http://thomsonreuters.com/conference-proceedings-citation-index/
. The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. You will be able to provide a hyperlink to all delegates and direct your conference website visitors to your proceedings. All accepted papers will also be indexed in DBLP.Check the Paper Kit section on the ANT 2014 conference website for more details. The authors must follow Elsevier guidelines as given in ANT-2014 Website. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference to present the work. Selected outstanding papers presented at the workshop may be considered for publication in journal special issues.GENERAL CHAIRSJanet Light, University of New Brunswick, Saint John, CanadaMarco Avvenuti, University of Pisa, ItalyPROGRAM CHAIRDaniel Cesarini, University of Pisa, ItalyPUBLICITY CHAIRDaniel Cesarini, University of Pisa, ItalyPROGRAM COMMITTEEhttp://www.iet.unipi.it/snigm2014/committee.html
