    The aim of this invited session is to bring together researchers, academics, scholars to the forefront of research activity on Internet of Things and Smart Cities. The specific profile of this session is to promote the state-of-the-art in scientific and practical research of the IoT technology and examine the research opportunities and applications. The invited session is an excellent opportunity to present the current challenges and future opportunities in building smart cities in an efficient and sustainable way. Overall the goal is to provide a thorough overview of the main topics about Smart Cities and IoT technology and their envisioned integration.

    International speakers from academia and industry will give lectures tailoring their research field for an interdisciplinary audience. During the invited session, a dedicated discussion panel will bring into focus the collaboration between academia and industry in order to depict the future vision of IoT abd Smart Cities. Participants from the fields of information systems and computer sciences, communication technology will find an excellent opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary discussions, set up new networks and exchange information on a professional level. This session will allow participants to be exposed to cutting edge results in one of the most challenging research area, while at the same time enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of one of the most beautiful North-African location.

    SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

    Submissions are welcome in all the areas of Internet of things and Smart Cities. We invite papers which explore topics of interest including:

    Sensing and Smart Environments

    Smart Objects and Communication

    IoT network infrastructure

    IoT applications and services

    IoT networking and communication

    Architectures and protocols for IoT

    Cyber Security for Smart Cities & IoT

    Smart Objects and Technologies Information Extraction

    Economic, Security and Sociologic Aspects of Smart Objects

    Application scenarios and real-world deployments for IoT and Smart Cities

    Research and challenges for Smart Cities

    Prospective authors should submit by using the online abstract submission platform, an extended abstract of up to 6 pages describing their original work using the IEEE template.

    Accepted papers will be published in the proceeding and submitted to IEEE Xplore Library. Furthermore, Authors of high quality papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work for potential publication in a special issue/section of an international journal.

    Accepted papers must be registered; otherwise they will not be submitted to IEEE Xplore Library. The first author is limited to submit a maximum of 2 papers and at least one of the co-authors of every paper should register.

    Notification of acceptance: June 8, 2014
