Note: Submission deadline has been extended until January 31st, 2010.
The International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and
Automation in Space (i-SAIRAS '10) is the 10th in these series of
international symposia to be held in the year 2010.
The meeting is devoted to the technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Automation and Robotics (A&R) and its application in space.
The symposium will take place in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan from August
29 to September 1, 2010.
The topics will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Artificial intelligence for space systems:
Spacecraft autonomy, Guidance, navigation and control, Smart sensors,
Mission operations automation, Decision support tools, Innovative operations
concepts, Data visualization, Automated planning and scheduling, Model-based
reasoning, Machine learning and data mining, etc.
Robotics and automation for space systems:
Application scenarios, Mobility, Manipulation, End effectors and tools,
Sensing and robot vision, Robot-friendly payload design, Test and
operations, User interfaces, Tele-presence, etc.
Human-Robotic Systems and Operations for Exploration:
Human-robotic teaming concepts, Crew autonomy, Ground-based control,
Vehicle/system, Autonomy, Human-computer interaction, State-based
commanding, Monitoring and control, etc.
Important Dates:
January 31st, 2010 Submission of extended abstract (Note: Deadline has
been extended.)
March 20th, 2010 Notification of paper acceptance
May 20th, 2010 Submission of final paper
Abstract Submission:
Authors are invited to submit the extended abstract (2 pages) of their
paper, for oral or poster presentation. Please submit extended abstracts of
your papers in PDF format directly to the following address by the deadline
20th January in 2010.

jaxa.jpExtended abstracts are limited to 2 pages in single-line space, should not
exceed 1 MB, and should include problem formulation, motivation to the work,
methodology, sample results and discussion and references, within the scope
of the conference as detailed in this page.
All papers will be peer reviewed, and all the accepted papers will be
published in the conference electronic proceedings.
