FIRST WORKSHOP ON INTEGRATING SOLID-STATE MEMORY INTO THE STORAGEHIERARCHY (WISH 2009)Co-located with ACM ASPLOS 2009March 2009,Washington, DC, USAWeb site: http://www.cse.psu.edu/~tak/wish2009.html
CALL FOR PAPERSThe goal of this workshop is to promote new ideas and research onsolid-state devices and systems. The emergence of solid-state storagedevices provides opportunities to address performance and power challengesin computer systems. Hybrid storage systems might employ solid-statememory in a variety of ways, such as capacity extensions to traditionalDRAM-based main memory, caches or buffers that retain data over longertime scales, devices that complement or replace hard disk drives, or somecombination of these approaches. Utilizing solid-state technologyeffectively requires close interaction between computer architects, systems software designers, and application developers. The objective ofthis first WISH workshop is to create a forum for such interaction. Wesolicit papers that present new research results, describe works inprogress, or propose new directions of research. We also welcome positionpapers from industry.Important datesPaper submissions: December 15, 2008Acceptance Notification: January 25, 2009Final copy deadline: February 10, 2009CO-ORGANIZERSBhuvan Urgaonkar, Pennsylvania State UniversitySudhanva Gurumurthi, University of VirginiaWEB AND PUBLICITY CHAIRByung Chul Tak, Pennsylvania State UniversityPROGRAM COMMITTEEFrank Bellosa, University of KarlsruheMahmut Kandemir, Pennsylvania State UniversityChul Lee, Samsung ElectronicsMircea Stan, University of VirginiaTom Wenisch, University of MichiganBest regards,Byung Chul TakWISH 2009 Publicity Chair
