    The Chinese Hayek Society and the Department of Economics and Finance, Hong Kong Shue Yan University will hold a two-day international conference on August 6-7, 2010 at Shue Yan University, North Point, Hong Kong. The main theme of the conference this year is “The Relevance of F.A. Hayek on China’s Economy and Society”. You are cordially invited to present a paper on the main and related themes (but not exclusively to) as listed below:

    Both theoretical and empirical papers on mainland China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong in broader relation to the global economy are accepted. The organizers welcome papers applying F.A. Hayek’s contributions to the Chinese economy and society. We also believe that interdisciplinary and heterodox approaches are most fruitful in understanding complexity of China issues. Therefore, the conference welcomes papers from disciplines such as economics, sociology, business management, psychology, law and politics. In economics, apart from the conventional approach, the conference seeks scholars from New Institutional Economics, Austrian Economics, Social Economics and Evolutionary Economics to put forward their views on East Asia today. The language of the conference is Chinese and English. There will be no registration fee. Participants fund their own travelling expenses. However, the conference can provide foods and accommodations for those scholars, untenured professors and students who need subsidies.
