    Workshop on Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery for e-Governance (DMEG'2010)
    Introduction
    The 14th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD 2010) is being held at Hyderabad from 21st to 24th June 2010. There is need to spread data warehousing and data mining techniques in Government sector where the research would lead to use of Knowledge Discovery and thereby benefit citizens. IIIT Hyderabad in collaboration with National Institute of Smart Government plans to conduct a half day Workshop during PAKDD-2010.
    Scope of Workshop
    This Workshop on "Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery for e-Governance" will have practical appeal to KD & DM community to enable them to exchange experiences and opinions with a view to learning more about this topic of the workshop on 21st June 2010.
    Topics to be Covered
    Research Papers describing original research in all areas of KDD and Data Mining papers describing theoretical or empirical research, new techniques and tools, and in-depth case studies, obstacles, and lessons learned in e-Governance area in the "real world" will be invited from specialists in the field.
    Topics of Interest (But Not Restricted to the following):
    Emerging trends in Data Mining for e-Governance applications.
    Role of KDD in implementation of e-Government projects.
    Need for Government Process Reengineering using Data Mining approach.
    Sharing of case studies to highlight best practices in managing e-Governance projects and impact of Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery.
    Architecture and models of e-Governance including Public Private Partnership (PPP) and utility of Knowledge Discovery, Data Warehousing and Data Mining techniques in Governments.
