Along with the conference committees, I warmly welcome you to the 9th International Conference on Frontiers of Design and Manufacturing Sciences (ICFDM) in Changsha, China, during July 17-19, 2010.ICFDM is an international conference initiated by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Shien-Ming Wu Foundation, and held every two years by the universities of Minister of Education. As a venue for communication and cooperation among researchers at home and abroad in the field of design and manufacturing, the conference is also a platform for promotion of development of design and manufacturing technology. The theme for the conference isSustainable Development of Mechanical Science and Manufacturing Engineeringin this year. The conference will include invited keynote speeches andtechnical sessionsfrom outstanding researchers throughout the world and presentation of progress and latest achievements of projects granted by NSFC. The Best Papers and Projects Award, and theDedicated Service Awardwill also be elected at the conference.
