    We are pleased to announce that the 16th International Conference of Advances in ICT for Emerging Regions (ICTer2016) will be held from 1st to 3rd September 2016 in Negombo, Sri Lanka. ICTer is technically co-sponsored by IEEE Sri Lanka section and is the successor to the seminal International Information Technology Conference (IITC) held in Sri Lanka since 1998. The ICTer conference is a unique opportunity for researcher and practitioners alike to present research and development activities in the Computer Science and Information and Communication Technology domains. The Proceedings of the conference will be published in book form and all presented papers and abstracts will be submitted to IEEE Xplore. Selected papers will be invited for publication in the special issue of the ICTer Journal (journal.icter.org).

    The main conference will take place on the 1st and 2nd of September 2016. In addition to the presentation of selected papers, the conference will include several keynote addresses by leading personalities of International repute in the domains of Computer Science and ICT. The conference will include several post-conference workshops on the 3rd of September, conducted by top experts in the cutting edge areas of Computer Science and Information and Communication Technology. The ICTer2016 Conference will focus on important problems and potential solutions in the areas of ICT including but not limited to the following:

    Language processing for translation, recognition, summarisation

    Cyber physical systems

    Big data analytics

    Image processing, visualization, modelling and simulation

    The organizing committee invites you to submit full papers (6-8 pages) of completed research, development or innovative projects or abstracts (1 page) of on going research work or innovative projects in computing. All submissions will be peer reviewed by an International review committee. The authors of accepted submissions will be invited to present at the conference either as oral presentation or as poster presentations [Please see http://www.icter.org/ICTer2016 for more details]

    Submission Schedule for full papers and abstracts;

    Round 1: Submission Deadline 18th April 2016. Notification including review comments will be provided on or after 20th May 2016.

    Round 2: Submission Deadline 23rd May 2016. Notification including review comments will be provided on or after 24th June 2016.

    Final Manuscript due date and Author registration Deadline: 25th July 2016.

    All presented papers and abstracts will be submitted to IEEE Xplore.
