Recent developments apply techniques from advanced coding theoryand formal verification in order to improve our understanding of robustwatermarking systems and related security protocols.Major advances in authentication and restoration have further improveddetection, localization accuracy and recovery of tampered regions. Dataforensics has recently generated new and exciting opportunities,challenges and applications for researchers. IWDW09 aims to provide aninternational forum for researchers and the dissemination of the latestcutting-edge research results in these important areas. We invitesubmissions of high-quality original research papers with two prizes tobe awarded for the best paper and best student paper.The host for IWDW09 is the University of Surrey (Department ofComputing), in the beautiful Cathedral Town of Guildford. The town iscentrally located in the South-East of England. Both Heathrow andGatwick airports, as well as Central London and the ferry port ofPortsmouth, are all within an easy commute and less than one hour awayby public transport.
