    Description:

Pervasive or ubiquitous computing defines a new paradigm of computing for 21st century as a result of ubiquity of computing beyond the mainframe and personal computers and advances of the media sensing, computing and usage along with the developments and applications of communication and networking. Traditional multimedia computing in pervasive computing environments faces new challenges in increasing number of ubiquitous media devices, media types, media content and semantic modeling, analysis and processing, media management, usage and services. The workshop is to provide a forum for researchers and industry practitioners to share their research experience, original results and practical developments on the specific challenges and emerging issues in pervasive or ubiquitous media computing. PerMedia2010 covers all media related fundamentals, theories, models, technologies and applications in pervasive/ubiquitous systems and environments.

Program Co-Chair of PerMedia, one of the workshops of UIC 2010.
