The Second ACM International Workshop onMultimedia Technologies for Distance Leaning (MTDL 2010)Firenze, Italy, October 29, 2010http://MTDL2010.mine.tku.edu.tw
In conjunction with ACM Multimedia 2010Multimedia technologies and networking infrastructure have changed humansocial behavior. One typical example is education. The impact of distancelearning to traditional universities in particular allows educationalprofessionals to rethink about how to efficiently and effectively usingmultimedia technologies to improve instruction, as well as to encouragestudents to learn. Although multimedia technologies have already been usedwidely in e-learning, various considerations should be carefully addressedfrom both pedagogical and technological perspectives, to ensure thesuccessful incorporation of these technologies in e-learning.This ACM workshop aims to discuss problems, current studies, and solutionsin how to use multimedia and communication technologies to improvee-learning. Especially, presentations should address the difference betweenusing and without using multimedia technologies in education. Practicalsolutions are encouraged, although pedagogical theories may be used tosupport the solutions. The conference proceedings will be published by ACM. Topics of interestsinclude but are not limited to the following:? Efficient Authoring Methods for Instruction Creation/Generation? Management of Multimedia Learning Objects? Multimedia Edutainment Technologies? Multimedia Technologies for Collaborative Learning? Multimedia Technologies for Game-based Learning? Multimedia Technologies for Mobile/Situated Learning? Multimodal Interactions for e-Learning? Pedagogical Issues of using Multimedia Technologies in e-Learning? Real-time Delivery of Multimedia Instructions? Retrieval of Multimedia Learning Objects? Server and System Architecture for Multimedia Instructions? Usability Study of Multimedia Learning ObjectsSubmission DetailsEach paper for submission should be formatted using the ACM Proceedingstemplates.
