This paper analyzes the sizing and economic allocation problem for a wind, photovoltaic and photovoltaic-wind hybrid system at 25 locations in Taiwan. The sizing and Net Present Cost (NPC) ware simulated and optimized, using the hybrid optimization model for electric renewables (HOMER) simulation tool. The HOMER Micropower Optimization Model is a computer model developed by the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The comparisons of total Net Present Cost and payback years (PB) at these 25 locations with different Hub Height, capacity shortage and different primary loads are conducted. Another simulation result is focus on the comparison with the combination of Photovoltaic-battery versus wind-photovoltaic versus wind-battery hybrid system in different type of wind turbine. 25 different weather station recorded data in year 2007 are used to characterize the different type of optimal capacity allocation in these areas
