2010 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education (ICAIE 2010) will be held from October 29-30, 2010 in Hangzhou,China.Artificial intelligence and education are becoming increasingly interesting to both the academic researchers and medical practitioners. It is essential to explore artificial intelligence and education from the theoretical and applicable viewpoint. 2010 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Education (ICAIE 2010) provides two day's focus on the science and technology that are the basis for the artificial intelligence and education. The theme of the plenary session is “e-Learning platforms and tools, artificial intelligence, open learning and new generations of educational technologies” featuring invited speakers who will further explore this topic that is so significant for artificial intelligence and education. The conference is co-sponsored by IEEE Beijing Section, Huazhong Normal University, Hangzhou Normal University and ChinaAssociation of Educational Technology (CAET).The proceedings will be published by IEEE Press. All papers published will be indexed by EI Compendex and ISTP. ICAIE 2010 has entered into IEEE Conference List. All papers submitted to this conference will be double-blind peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee and related technical committees. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality, significance, technical soundness, presentation, and references. The conference chair makes the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the paper.TopicsA Applied Artificial IntelligenceA1 Neural networksA2 Expert systemsA3 Evolutionary and genetic algorithmsA4 Knowledge processingA5 Model based reasoningA6 Rough setsA7 Fuzzy setsA8 Interactive computational modelsA9 Machine learningA10 Decision support systemsA11 System identification, modeling, and optimization A12 Data miningA13 Intelligent information retrieval B E-Learning Platforms and ToolsB1 Personalized educational systems B2 Content authoring technologies B3 Architectures for educational technology systems B4 Learning resource retrieving, deployment, organization and managementB5 Methodologies for development of educational technology systemsB6 Design, model and framework of e-learning systemsB7 Distance learning systemsB8 E-learning standardsC Artificial Intelligence and Open LearningC1 HCI for educational systems C2 Knowledge management technologies in education C3 Data mining, text mining, and web mining in educationC4 Simulations for learning C5 Intelligent tutoring systems C6 Multi-agent systems in e-learning C7 User modeling in e-learning C8 Knowledge discovery and knowledge engineering C9 Affective computing and education C10 Semantic web services and service-oriented architectureC11 Adaptive and adaptable learning environments D New Generations of Educational Technologies D1 Web 2.0 and social computing for learningD2 Mobile learning D3 Formal and informal learning D4 Distance education/learning D5 Web based learning D6 Intelligent learning/tutoring environments D7 Distributed learning environmentsD8 CSCL technologies D9 e-Pedagogy and instructional design D10 e-testing D11 Computer-mediated communication D12 Educational multimediaD13 Blended learning D14 EPSSE Educational Software and HardwareE1 Architectures of innovative software and hardware systems for education and training E2 Collaborative and communication software E3 Distributed learning environments E4 Educational software E5 Educational hardware E6 Educational networksF Other TopicsF1 Virtual reality for educationF2 Game-based learning F3 Techniques of instrumentation devices and networks for research data gathering F4 Wireless sensor networks for learning F5 Entertainment robots and digital Toys for educationImportant DatesFull paper submission due: June 10, 2010Decision notification: July 5, 2010Camera-ready papers: July 20, 2010Registration due: July 20, 2010Conference date: October 29-30, 2010Paper SubmissionProspective authors are encouraged to submit a full paper for review.
