Call For Papers - CFP
3rd IEEE International Workshop on Social TV: the Next Wave 8th or 11th January, 2011, Las Vegas, Nevada Satellite Workshop of 8th IEEE Consumer Communications & Networking Conference(IEEE CCNC 2011) Social TV is upon us. Already people interact with one another, using their PC, MAC, iPads and phones, while watching TV content and recommending content to be watched later and interact over it. On-screen interaction is enabled by new embedded processors in TVs and more user oriented UIs and interactions. But is this where Social TV ends? This workshop will attempt to answer that question. How can Social TV enable new content consumption and creation paradigms? Will device ecosystems answer the limitations of the device "shell" and create richer experience? How can current network "silos" be broken to provide the end to end services mandated by Social TV? And can Social TV enable the "Green Network" revolution? The workshop will request papers on the following topics:architectures beyond cable/IPTV/satellite provision of TV servicesintegration of interaction and enhancements to TV content in linear TV and VODSocial TV in the "TV everywhere" architectureconverged television platformsdevice ecosystems for TV interactivitycontent co-creation/storytelling in a social TV worlddevice/network compositiongreen video platformsmiddleware for Social TVuser-centric and user-centered designend user adoption of social TV Guidelines for SubmissionSubmitted papers must represent original material that is not currently under review in any other conference or journal, and has not been previously published.
