Healthcare staff are notable in the amount of interaction and mobility exhibited in their work, which often involves synchronous (or asynchronous), coupled, communication and activity, and is sometimes conducted among a distributed team. As well as providing novel approaches to support traditional methods of communication, a range of technologies offer the potential for individuals and groups to reconfigure their collaboration practices in new and useful ways.This special track invites reports on significant unpublished work in the area of computer-support for co-operative work in healthcare with particular emphasis on design and technology applications for interaction among medical specialists. Research on support for collaboration among medical, nursing, scientific and ancillary staff is encouraged, including case studies or incident reports. Topics of interest include, but are not limited toSubmissions to this special track on Supporting Collaboration among Healthcare Workers, will be done electronically via the CBMS web submission system, which will open in May, approximately one month before the deadline June 24th, 2010. Prospective authors should simply choose the Special Track title "ST8: Supporting Collaboration among Healthcare Workers" when submitting a paper to this track.No hardcopy submissions will be accepted. Electronic submission of original research papers will only be accepted in PDF format, observing the IEEE guidelines and formatting instructions for full papers. The format of the IEEE CBMS 2010 proceedings will be the IEEE Computer Science Press 8.5 x 11-inch format (2-column) and submission is required in this format.
