    Call For Papers - CFP

The Steering Committee of the IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo invites proposals to host the

2011 and 2012 conference editions. With typically around 1000 submissions and 500 participants each year, the

IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo has been the flagship multimedia conference sponsored by

four IEEE societies since 2000. It serves as a forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in multimedia

technologies, systems, and applications from both the research and development perspectives of the circuits and

systems, communications, computer, and signal processing communities.

Proposals are open to all regions. A letter of intent should be submitted electronically to the ICME Steering

Committee Chair, Prof. Wenjun Zeng, at zengwatmissouri.edu by March 15, 2010. Full proposals should be

submitted electronically by May 15, 2010 for 2011 proposals and July 1, 2010 for 2012 proposals. ICME has been

revamped recently, with major format changes (e.g., TPC chairs selection, 6-page papers, 15%+15% acceptance rate

for oral and poster papers, etc.) summarized at http://www.ieee-icme.org/. A strong (internationally renowned) and

highly motivated organizing committee is expected. Proposals should address the following content, format and

scheduling requirements, and are encouraged to be innovative in format and content. Proponents are strongly

encouraged to present their proposals at the next ICME Steering Committee meeting to be held during ICME 2010

    in Singapore.

Content: List the organizing committee and planned technical program components

? The proponents are encouraged to include in the planned technical program: keynote talks, panels, special

sessions, workshops, tutorials, demo sessions, and exhibitions.

Format: Propose a clear format of the conference.

? The proponents are asked to suggest a four to five day format.

? Proposals for other format solutions with sound rationale are also welcome.

Scheduling, Location, and Costs: Propose a clear scheduling of the ICME conference.

? Proposals for ICME are encouraged to select a location that is easily accessible. The characteristics of the

venue and costs associated should be included. Inclusion of a preliminary budget is encouraged.

Paper Review: Propose solutions to bring in additional reviewers.

? Members of the four sponsoring TCs are responsible for reviewing most of the papers.

? A system wherein there are three or more reviewers for each paper is desired.

Timetable for Proposal Submission and Evaluation:

? Letter of intent submission deadline: March 15, 2010

    ? Full proposal submission deadline: May 15, 2010 (2011 proposals), and July 1, 2010 (2012 proposals)

? Evaluation of proposals by ICME Steering Committee: May ? July 2010 (2011 proposals)

    ? Notification of decision to proponents: July 31, 2010 (2011 proposals), Dec. 31, 2010 (2012 proposals)
