The 4th International Workshop on RFID & WSN and its Industrial Applicationsin Conjunction with IEEE AINA 2011, March 22-25, 2011, Biopolis, SingaporeRadio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) are considered to be the two elements of pervasive computing and are persistent in gathering the interest of research community since from past few years since it has opened new challenges with the development of interesting application like surveillance, environment monitoring, supply chain management, real time asset tracking and logistics etc. RFID has limited sense range and can be enhanced by the merger of the two above said technologies. RFID in conjunction with WSN, next generation real time tracking system, can possibly be ideal for Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) which has revolutionized the overall supply chain management process. The development of efficient protocols for WSN communication as well as development of RFID based WSN motes itself posed numerous challenges for the research community. And for achieving the longevity of the network energy efficient design is of paramount importance for such networks. The workshop aims to bring together the research community working in the similar areas. It will be held in conjunction with AINA 2010, thus providing an ideal opportunity for researchers and especially high degree PhD research students to present their latest work and have a valuable feedback from experts.Authors are invited to submit original, previously unpublished work that clearly demonstrate their research related to energy efficient WSN/WMSN, RFID based systems.Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following featured topics:Hardware aspects of RFID based WSN sensor design Energy Conservation and Management techniques for such networks Energy-aware communication protocols Security, privacy, and data integrity in RFID based WSN Cross-layer optimization Collaborative signal processing Quality-of-Service, Supply chain optimization Simulation tools, operating systems and middleware Scalability of wireless sensor networks Integration with Other System RFID /WSN networks and the Web for improving freight efficiency Prototypes, field studies, and test bed Applications such as environment, petroleum, healthcare, security, Supply chain, and agriculture.
