    EXTENDED Submission Deadline: October 30, 2010

    Proceedings to be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services (CPS)

    Theme:

    Usability is (should be) a major concern when designing any interactive software system. Applications based on emerging information technology bring new challenges. Is it the classical concept of usability still valid? Which are the dimensions of the (new) usability? How can it be measured? How should we develop for (better) usability?

    The objective of the track is to bring together researchers and practitioners to share recent advances and to explore new direction of software usability. Suggested topics for the track include, but are not limited to:

    * Usability attributes, paradigms and principles

    * Usability evaluation

    * Usability heuristics

    * Usability frameworks

    * Usability in practice

    * Usability in grid computing

    * Usability in virtual worlds

    * Usability in interactive television

    * Usability in scientific applications

    * Usability in engineering applications

    * Usability in business applications

    * Usability in arts & humanities applications

    * Usability in computer games

    * Usability in virtual communities

    * Usability in collaborative systems

    * Usability in mobile computing

    * Usability in human-agent interaction

    * Usability in human-robot interaction

    * Usability, privacy and security

    * Usability and universal access

    * Usability and internationalization

    Paper Submission:

    Authors should submit a 4 to 6 page version of their original and unpublished work, including 5 keywords in the IEEE format (template available at http://www.inf.ucv.cl/~itng and www.itng.info).

    Submission should be made at https://www.softconf.com/b/itng2011/.

    If electronic submission is not possible for some reasons, contact the track chair (cristian.rusuatucv.cl) or co-chairs (dorian.gorganatcs.utcluj.ro, ccollazoatunicauca.edu.co).

    Evaluation Process:

    Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness. Per ITNG policy, except for invited papers, all papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society and available on the IEEE digital library.

    About the Conference:

    The International Conference on Information Technology - New Generations (ITNG) is an annual event focusing on state of the art technologies pertaining to digital information and communications. The applications of advanced information technology to such domains as astronomy, biology, education, geosciences, security and health care are among topics of relevance to ITNG. Visionary ideas, theoretical and experimental results, as well as prototypes, designs, and tools that help the information readily flow to the user are of special interest. High Performance Computing, Computing Architectures, and Innovative Methods of Computing are examples of the related topics. The conference features keynote speakers, the best student award, poster award, service award and a technical open panel, and workshops/exhibits from industry, government and academia.
