Call For Papers - CFP
Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) integrate the executive ability of the physical world and the intelligence of the cyber world to add new capabilities to real-world physical systems. Networked computing at multiple, sometimes extreme, scales plays a crucial rule in CPSs as such systems use computation and communication deeply embedded in and interacting with physical processes to drive the cyber-physical coupling. The theme of this workshop is to provide an open forum to discuss the scientific foundations, technologies, and research challenges in Cyber-Physical Networking Systems (CPNSs), and to present an overarching view of state-of-the-art research and technological advances in CPNSs. Specifically, this workshop will address CPNS methodologies, modeling, theory, protocols, systems, architectures, and implementations and emerging CPNS technologies. The presentations will also feature industry representatives from prestigious R&D labs who will provide diverse views to facilitate collaboration between academia and industry. This workshop will provide a keynote session and a panel discussion session in which the keynote speaker and panelists from NSF, prestigious R&D labs, and universities will overview CPNS research and discuss future research directions. GoalsThe Second International Workshop on Cyber-Physical Networking Systems (CPNS 2012) is a forum to bring together people from academia and industry to explore research issues and challenges related to Cyber-Physical Networking Systems (CPNSs) and discuss innovative ideas and promising cutting-edge solutions (methodologies, techniques and approaches) on diverse CPNS-related topics. This forum aims to help researchers from academia and industry understand the broad, novel scope of CPNSs and grasp new thinking, challenges, and approaches underlying the issues, technologies, and solutions exchanged from mutual communities.Topics of InterestThe topics of interest for CPNS 2012 include, but not limited to, the following:Theoretical foundations of CPNSsModeling and analysis of CPNSsSystem-level designs and implementations of CPNSsEvaluation approaches and metricsControl issues in CPNSReal-time services and QoS support in CPNSsWireless sensor networking in CPNSsMobile and participatory sensingInternet of things in CPNSsHigh-performance computing with CPNSsCloud computing with CPNSsSecurity and privacy issues in CPNSsSafety, fault tolerance, and robustness of CPNSsIntelligent sensing and processing in CPNsNetworking issues in emerging CPNS applications including healthcare, transportation, automation, the environment, smart grid and so on.
