Call for PapersrrACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology (ACM TIST)rrSpecial Issue on Social Web MiningrrSocial network platforms (e.g., Facebook, Google+, Twitter) have beenrdrawing increasing attention from everyday users worldwide to researchrcommunities and industries. For instance, it is reported that thererare more than 750 million active Facebook users, of which 50% log onrin any given day. This special issue is aimed atrproviding a forum to highlight the leading works from the data miningrand machine learning communities for making sense of social networks.rrTopics of interest include but are not limited to:r- Community detectionr- Crawling of social networksr- Large scale graph miningr- Multi-relational data miningr- News/social media recommender systemsr- Preference learning and elicitation in social networksr- Privacy protection in social networksr- Sentiment analysis in social networks (e.g., opinion mining in Twitter)rrSubmissionsrrOn-Line Submission (will be available around January 1, 2012):rhttp://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tist
