Call For Papers - CFP
Wired and wireless technologies and applications have become popular in recent years and have received wide deployments in all areas of our life. Recent advancement are dramatically increasing in the areas of vehicular communications for intelligent transportation systems, cognitive radio network (CRN) for dynamic and efficient spectrum sharing, and sensor networks for sensing and monitoring applications.Vehicular communications for intelligent transportation system are expected to implement variety of wired and wireless technologies to provide safety as well as comfort for passengers and to make more efficient roads in the future by providing timely information to drivers and concerned authorities.Advancement in CRN will allow unlicensed users to co-exist and use licensed spectrum seamlessly without interfering licensed users thus relieving the congestion in unlicensed spectrum and using the licensed spectrum effectively.Sensors and sensor network’s potential usage is diverse but the main focus is in areas such as security, health, energy, food safety, environment monitoring and improving quality of all areas of life. The purpose of ACTICS is to serve as a forum for researchers from academia, industries, professionals, standard developers, students and practitioners to exchange ideas, present new research results and explore new research directions in advanced communication technologies and their applications.Topics of interest include but not limited to:o Network architectures and protocolso Mobility management and topology controlo Performance modeling and analysiso Medium access control and routing protocolso Information aggregation and disseminationo CR enhanced Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Roadside (V2R) communications,o Challenges of V2V and V2R wireless communicationso Trust, security and privacy issueso Encryption algorithm in sensor networkso Applications, case studies, and real-world test bedso Heterogeneous networkingo Power aware and energy efficient designo Remote sensing and monitoring (health care, space structure, environments, hazards etc.)o Complexity analysis, self-organization/configuration, distributed co-ordination etc.o Application of software defined radio in advanced communication systemso Cross-layer designs and architectureso Self-organizing networks and autonomic communicationso Ultra-wideband for spectrum sharingo Beam-forming and MIMO for interference avoidance in the CR contexto Biological-inspired networkingo Adaptive wireless communication systemso Spectrum sensing techniques, spectrum efficiency and soft spectrum usageo Parameter estimation for adaptation of wireless communication systemso Femto-cells and Cognitive Radios Networkso Spectrum, network, context, environment, location awarenesso New applications in TV-band white spaceo Interference mitigation and awarenesso Spectrum-management regulation and policy makingo Game theory based protocols and algorithmso Standardization, such as IEEE 802.22, 802.19, 802.11n, 802.11p, etc.
