Call For Papers - CFP
CALL FOR PAPERSPervasive/Ubiquitous Computing Workshop (PUC 2009)http://www.cis.uoguelph.ca/~denko/IWCmcindex.htmlTo be held in conjunction with IWCMC 2009,June 21-24, 2009, Leipzig, Germanyhttp://iwcmc.com/index.htmAims and scope of the workshopAt the same time as the number of connections, wired or wireless foreach electronic device is increasing the number of electronic devicessurrounding each individual is also multiplying. This will pave theway for the realisation of pervasive/ubiquitous computing where theuser is making use of many devices and systems simultaneously, in thecourse of daily activities, without having to make effort or evenbeing aware of them. These devices and systems will then collaborateand form together an ambient intelligence that offers personalisedservices to the user. However, in order to realise this excitingvision, it is necessary to address and find solutions to manychallenges such as seamless access, device and service discovery, service continuity, middleware for pervasive computing, identity, privacy, security, trust, etc.The IWCMC 2009 Pervasive/Ubiquitous Computing Workshop will serve asan ideal meeting place for developers, researchers, practitioners, andeducators who are interested or working within the field of mobile,pervasive/ubiquitous computing. It will, hopefully, act as a catalystfor the realisation of the vision of pervasive computing.Topics of interestSubmissions are solicited on, but not limited to, the following topics:-Technologies and devices for pervasive computing-Applications and services of pervasive computing technologies-Seamless access and Service continuity in pervasive computing-Customisation and personalisation of services-Context-aware services-Device and service discovery in pervasive computing-Middleware for pervasive computing-Interfaces and modes of interactions between people and pervasivecomputing devices, applications or environments-Tools, infrastructures, architectures and techniques for designing, implementing & deploying pervasive computing applications-Evaluations and evaluation methods, for assessing the impact ofpervasive computing devices, applications or environments-Privacy, security, trust & social issues and implications ofpervasive computing Identity management in pervasive computing-Intelligent and smart environments-Opportunistic pervasive computing-Autonomic management of ubiquitous systemsSubmission GuidelinesThe IWCMC 2009 Pervasive/Ubiquitous Computing Workshop welcomes noveland unpublished papers in the field of Pervasive/Ubiquitous Computing.Submissions must include an abstract, five to ten keywords, the e-mailaddress of the corresponding author and should not exceed 6 pages, including tables and figures (up to two extra pages at additionalcost) in standard IEEE camera-ready format (double-column, 10-ptfont). The proceedings of the workshop will be published as part ofIWCMC2009 main conference, by IEEE Communications Society and IEEEDigital Library. Selected papers will be further considered forpossible publication in a Special Issue of an International Journal(pending) after further extension.Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors willregister for the conference and present the work. Submissions will beconducted electronically on the conference website:http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=6827&.Important DatesPaper Submission Deadline: 20 January 2009 (extended)Paper Acceptance Notification: 25 March 2009Camera-ready Paper Submissions: 15 April 2009Registration Deadline for Authors: 15 April 2009Workshop ChairsDo van Thanh, Telenor R&I, Norway, thanh-van.do[AT]telenor.comMieso Denko, University of Guelph, Canada, denko[AT]cis.uoguelph.caTechnical Program CommitteeSee (http://www.cis.uoguelph.ca/~denko/IWCOrganizing_Committee.html
