The DMS conference is an international conference series, which coversa wide spectrum of paper presentations, technical discussions anddemonstrations in the fields of distributed multimedia computing.The main themes of the DMS2009 conference are: network and systems,emergency management and security, situated computing, multimediasoftware engineering, and multimedia information retrieval, mining andfusion. The conference organizers seek contributions of high qualitypapers, panels or tutorials, addressing various aspects of distributedmultimedia systems and applications, for presentation at theconference and publication in the proceedings. The hotel has made available for theselimited dates (9/10/2009 - 9/13/2009) to DMS2009 attendees a discountrate of $89 US dollars for single/double, not including sales tax.Information for AuthorsPapers must be written in English. An electronic version (Postscript,PDF, or MS Word format) of the full paper should be submitted usingthe following URL: http://conf.ksi.edu/dms09/submit/SubmitPaper.php
.Manuscript must include a 200-word abstract and be no more than 6pages of IEEE double column text (including figures and references).Research papers must not be published or under consideration forpublication in a journal or in a conference with proceedings. Researchpapers will be evaluated based on originality, significance, technicalsoundness and clarify of exposition.System papers should report on existing research prototypes by clearlyidentifying the original contributions and ideas demonstrated, andwill be evaluated based on technical soundness, feasibility andapplicability.System papers must be accompanied by a separate demo descriptionspecifying the equipment and the type of installation that will beused. Authors of system papers must bring their own equipment fordemo.Depending upon the results of evaluation a paper may be accepted asregular paper (6 pages), short paper (4 pages) or poster (posterpresentation only).
