The theme of EDFGC 2011 is “Innovation, Eco-Textile and Sustainability”. The conference aims to provide a platform for presenting research findings, exchanging innovative ideas, and seeking collaboration opportunities in textile dyeing/finishing and green chemistry from both academia and industry around the world.The original manuscripts related to the science and engineering of textile dyeing/ finishing and green chemistry are invited. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:? Eco-Dyeing & Finishing? Functional Finishes of Textiles? Green Chemistry and Functional Chemicals? Pollution Control and Waste Treatment? Novel Equipment/Energy Sources and Energy conservation? Testing Methods and Standards of Eco-Textiles? Fundamental Research and Characterization Techniques, etc.Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province is the epicenter of Chinese textile industry, particularly in dyeing and finishing. Its natural beauty and cultural heritage attracts thousands of tourists from worldwide every year. Surrounding Hangzhou, there are many globally well-known textile enterprises and trade centers. A few examples are a) the textile city at Shaoxing, the largest textile manufacturing and trade center in the world; b) the cradleland of silk with 5000 years history at Huzhou; c) the famous tie city with the output over 40% of the global market at Shengzhou; d) the Datong sock city with one third of global sock production and supply; e) the woolen sweater town at Puyuan, producing and supplying 40% of woolen sweaters in China; f) the No.1 global dyestuff producer (Longsheng Group); and g) the largest textile chemical manufacturer in China (Transfar Chemicals) and so on.
