CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALSProposal Submission Deadline: January 31, 2009Advanced Techniques in Multimedia Watermarking: Image, Video and Audio Applications.A book edited by Dr. Ali Mohammad Al-HajPrincess Sumaya University, JordanTo be published by IGI Globalhttp://www.igi-global.com/requests/details.asp?ID=573
IntroductionIn recent years, the tremendous advancement of digital technology hasincreased the ease with which digital multimedia files (image, video, and audio)are stored, transmitted, and reproduced. Consequently, content providers andowners are faced with the problem of protecting against copyright violationand other forms of abuse of their digital property. The nature of digitalmultimedia content makes traditional copyright methods unsuitable forestablishing ownership. Therefore, digital watermarking was proposed, andstrongly advocated, as a solution to prevent illegal and malicious copying anddistribution of digital media. Many multimedia watermarking algorithms havebeen proposed in the last decade, however as the amount of digitalmultimedia production increases exponentially, the need for better and moreadvanced techniques for watermarking digital objects increases as well. Objective of the BookIn this book, we seek contributions in the area of digital watermarking that willaddress the different aspects of advanced watermarking research; modelingand theoretical analysis, advanced embedding and extraction techniques, software and hardware implementations, and performance evaluations ofwatermarking systems. The primary objective of the book is to introducereaders to state-of-art research in multimedia watermarking to enable highquality research in the different disciplines of watermarking.Target AudienceThe target audience of this book will be composed of professionals andresearchers working in the various disciplines of digital multimedia copyrightprotection, e.g. image and document watermarking, audio and videowatermarking, multimedia fingerprinting, information hiding, steganography, secured eCommerce, copyright protection, authentication, and informationmanagement. Moreover, the book will provide insights and support to industriesand researchers interested in software and hardware implementation of realtimemultimedia watermarking.2Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:Multimedia watermarking techniquesImage watermarking techniquesVideo watermarking techniquesAudio watermarking techniquesReversible watermarking techniquesOptimized watermarking techniquesPerformance evaluation of watermarking techniquesBenchmarking watermarking systemsApplications of watermarking systemsMultimedia watermarking technologiesMathematical modeling of watermarking techniquesHardware implementations of watermarking systemsReal-time multimedia watermarking systemsCopyright protection of multimedia objectsSubmission ProcedureResearchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before January 31st,2009, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concernsof his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notifiedby February 5th, 2009 about the status of their proposals and sent chapterguidelines. Full chapters should be about 8,000 - 10,000 words in length andexpected to be submitted by April 15th, 2009. All submitted chapters will bereviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested toserve as reviewers for this project.PublisherThis book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global (formerly Idea Group Inc.),publisher of the ¡°Information Science Reference¡± (formerly Idea GroupReference), ¡°Medical Information Science Reference,¡± and ¡°IGI Publishing¡±imprints.
