    Call For Papers - CFP

    The CrISS workshop evolved from the conference Dependable Systems, Services & Technologies DESSERT 2006-2010, www.stc-dessert.com/conf. It will approach holistically the issue of infrastructure safety and security. This subject for the interim DESSERT workshop was chosen in order to address:

    - Integration, interaction and interdependencies of sets of systems and the ensuing challenges in providing infrastructure safety;

    - Roles of IT- or computer-based systems?becoming a mandatory part of each system and the linkage between infrastructures?thus turning distinct infrastructures in a complex system of critical importance; IT systems are used to ensure safety and, on the other hand, introduce vulnerabilities;

    - Interdisciplinary research in studying failures in critical systems that are caused, as a rule, by a number of reasons.

    A new direction in engineering?“Safeware Engineering”?may be the answer to challenges in providing safety and security of critical infrastructures.

    The CrISS Workshop will examine policies, regulation, analysis, modelling, development, integration, verification, diagnostics and maintenance of complex computer and communications systems and infrastructures for safety-, mission-, and business-critical applications.

    The main topics on the workshop agenda include, but are not limited to the following:

    ? Policies for providing safety and security of critical infrastructures;

    ? Methodological and mathematical foundations of safety engineering;

    ? Macro-diagnostics of infrastructures;

    ? Resilience and safety of web-, GRID- and Cloud computing-based IT-infrastructures;

    ? Evolving infrastructures and safety management. Self*-systems and infrastructures;

    ? High availability systems and infrastructures;

    ? Formal methods in IT-infrastructure development and verification;

    ? Multi-version technologies in safety and security engineering;

    ? Critical infrastructure survivability;

    ? Dependability and safety of human-machine systems;

    ? Functional safety of I&C systems for critical infrastructures;

    ? Infrastructure aspects for CEC-based systems safety;

    ? Safety- and Assurance-Case techniques and tools;

    ? Energy grid safety;

    ? Regulatory aspects of infrastructure safety;

    ? Global aspects of safety and security engineering: education, training, cooperation.

    The full text of the reports, selected by the Program Committee, will be appear in workshop preprints and presented for publication in a special issue of Information & Security: An International Journal, http://infosec.procon.bg.

    English is the working language of the workshop.
