The IEICE (Institute of Electronics, Information and CommunicationEngineers) Transactions on Communications announces a forthcomingspecial section on "New Paradigm on Content Distribution and Sharing,"to be published in October 2011.[Overview]High-speed network has been realizing rich multimedia servicesincluding broadband audio and video contents. Coincidentally, novelinformation distribution and sharing methods, such as contentdistribution network (CDN), peer-to-peer (P2P) technology, gridcomputing, and cloud computing, has been emerging and being usedextensively. On the other hand, we have also been faced with diversenetworks: future Internet, next generation networks (NGN), IPmultimedia subsystems (IMS), and wireless ad-hoc/sensor and meshnetworks. This special secsion is being planned (scheduled to appearin the October 2011 issue) to discuss new paradigm on contentdistribution and sharing. The submissions concerning new technique anddiscovery for content distribution and sharing, new contentdistribution methods on various types of network architecture, andnetworking technology to support new content distribution and sharing, are highly welcome.[Scope]This special section is aimed at timely dissemination of research inthese areas. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:* Content delivery* Content distribution* Content sharing* Streaming technology* Peer-to-peer (P2P)* Overlay networking* Content delivery network (CDN)* Grid computing* Cloud computing* Traffic analysis* Traffic control* Load balancing* Content distribution and sharing on next generation networks or future Internet* Content distribution and sharing on wireless networks* Networking technology considering content distribution and sharing[Submission Instructions]The standard numbers of pages are 8 for a PAPER and 2 for aLETTER.
