The symposium will be held in Bellevue, Washington on June 27th,2011. Its goal is to foster communication and collaboration betweenresearchers in these synergistic areas, taking advantage of the nearbylocations of ACL-HLT 2011 and ICML 2011. ).=== Topics ===The workshop will feature a series of invited talks and generalsubmissions. Submissions focusing on novel research are solicited andwe especially encourage position and review papers addressing topicsthat are relevant both to Speech, Machine Learning and NLP. Theseareas include but are not limited to the use of: SVMs, log-linearmodels, neural networks, kernel methods, discriminative transforms,large margin training, discriminative training, active,semi-supervised & unsupervised training, structured prediction,Bayesian modeling, deep learning , and sparse representations.Application areas include natural language processing, speechrecognition, language modeling, and speaker verification.=== Paper Submission ===Prospective authors are invited to submit papers written in Englishvia the symposium website. Style guidelines and further submissioninformation will be available from the website.
