Cloud computing is swiftly becoming a very significant computing paradigm, allowing organizations to implement more computationally smart and agileenvironments by improving efficiency and reliability at lower cost. Manypotential uses have been proposed to leverage this powerful resource, covering many areas of applied computing. CloudApp intends to bring togethercloud computing researchers, experts, developers, and practitioners fromacademia, industry, and government, to discuss new and emerging trends inresearch, application, and management of cloud computing technologies forthese environments. The workshop seeks to identify the greatest risks andchallenges facing these paradigms, outline approaches for solving them, andprovide the foundation for new cross-discipline collaborative efforts. We solicit unpublished research papers that address theoretical issues andpractical implementations and experiences related to new technologies andapplications enabled by cloud computing. Topics of interest related toapplied cloud computing include, but are not limited to, the following:Cloud service models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)Cost analysis and revenue modelsData assurance/managementDigital forensic challenges and applicationsEnterprise applications based on cloudsGovernanceIdentity managementNetwork and storage architecturesProgramming models and toolsPerformance monitoring and optimizationScalability and complexityScientific and high performance computingSecurity applicationsSecurity policy and trust modelsService computingService Level Agreement complianceVirtualization techniques and applicationsPaper Submission:Papers must be submitted electronically via the CloudApp 2011 SubmissionPage. The format of submitted papers should follow the guidelines for theIEEE conference proceedings. All papers will be carefully reviewed by atleast three reviewers. Papers can be submitted as regular papers (six pages),and the acceptance will depend on reviewer feedback. Accepted papers will bepublished in the workshop proceedings of the COMPSAC 2011 by the IEEE CSPress. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper must register as afull participant of the workshop to have the paper published in theproceedings.Workshop web site: http://compsac.cs.iastate.edu/workshop_details.php?id=25
