Call For Papers - CFP
ScalCom 2011Scalability is a primary consideration in the design and implementationof computing and communication systems. The rapid increases in thevolume of information that needs to be processed by computersnecessitates new architectures, software, algorithms, and tools toimprove scalability.ScalCom-11 aims at providing an international forum for researchersand practitioners to discuss original ideas on all aspects ofscalability in computing. ScalCom-11 is soliciting original, previouslyunpublished work addressing research challenges and presenting advancesin the design and implementation of scalable computing and communicationsystems. The conference solicits papers broadly categorized in two tracks,Distributed Computing Systems and Parallel Computing Systems.Topics of interest include but are not limited to:Distributed Computing Systems-Distributed computing paradigms (cloud, grid, P2P, and utility computing)-Data management and data centers-Sensor networks and applications-Wireless and mobile computing-Internet-based computing, protocols, and applications-Security and privacy issues in distributed computing-Fault tolerance, reliability, and availability-Algorithms-System software (programming environments, OS, middleware)-Applications and toolsScalable Parallel Computing-Multi-core architectures-Graphics processors and accelerators-Interconnection networks-Compilers, programming models, and runtime environments-Operating systems and virtual machine monitors-Parallel I/O and storage systems-Exascale computing systems-Fault tolerance, reliability and dependability-Green parallel computing-Applications and toolsProceedingsThe conferences proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society.Important DatesSubmission Deadline: March 15, 2011Notification of Acceptance: May 15, 2011Camera-ready papers due: May 31, 2011Paper Submission Guidelineshttp://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/SCALCOM2011
All papers must be submitted electronically and in PDF format. Thematerial presented should be original and not published or undersubmission elsewhere. Authors should submit full papers of up to 8pages, following strictly the IEEE Computer Society ProceedingsManuscript style (available athttp://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting
),using two-column, single-space format, with 10-point font size.Figures and references must be included in the 8 pages. Oversizedpapers will be automatically rejected by the PC chairs. At leastone of the authors of each accepted paper must register early toattend the conference, in order for the paper to appear in theconference proceedings.
