-and-interaction-with-multimodal-information-contin conjunction with the DEXA’11www.dexa.org/Toulouse, FranceIRIT, Paul Sabatier UniversityAugust 29 - September 2, 2011Multimodal data and multimodal interaction are actually focal issues involving from health toenvironmental data. They address new approaches for human-machine interaction, machinelearning, information retrieval, query processing, data mining and other relevant aspectsconnected with the complexity the real world, which is widely and intrinsically characterized bymultimodality,The pervasive use of mobile devices, the development of more natural users’ interfaces andthe new possibilities offered by the evolution of Web applications, the more and moresophisticated sensors used for health applications, as well as sensors and tools used forsecurity and environmental sensors collect multimodal data and information. The purpose of this workshop will be to discuss and provide a scenario about: 1) theories andtechniques about multimodal information retrieval, multimodal data mining and multimodaldatabases for indexing, representing, organizing, querying and extracting features frommultimodal data, 2) machine learning 3) multimodal interfaces and multimodal interactionlanguages used in a more natural/flexible Human Machine Interaction approach, 4) themultimodal Web interaction.Topics of interests include but are not limited to:?
