Call For Papers - CFP
The International Symposium on Code Generation and Optimization (CGO) brings together researchers and practitioners working on bridging the gap between software abstraction and hardware execution. The conference spans the spectrum from purely static to fully dynamic approaches, and from pure software based methods to architectural features and support.Original contributions are solicited in areas including but not limited to the following:Code Generation and OptimizationTechniques for efficient execution of dynamically typed and higher-level languagesTechniques for developing or targeting custom or special-purpose targetsOptimization and code generation for emerging programming modelsCode transformations for energy efficiencyNew or improved optimization algorithms, including profile-guided, feedback-directed and machine learning based optimizationTechniques for measuring and tuning optimization effectivenessIntermediate representations enabling more powerful or efficient optimizationParallelismLanguage features and runtime support for parallelismTransformations for heterogeneous or specialized parallel targets, e.g. GPUsData distribution and synchronizationVirtualization support for multicore and/or heterogeneous computingThread extraction and thread level speculationStatic and Dynamic AnalysisProfiling and instrumentation for power, memory, throughput or latencyPhase detection and analysis techniquesEfficient profiling and instrumentation techniquesProgram characterization methods targeted at program optimizationProfile-guided optimization and re-optimizationOS, Architecture and Runtime supportArchitectural support for improved profiling, optimization and code generationIntegrated system design (HW/OS/VM/SW) for improved code generation, including custom or special-purpose processorsNovel and efficient tools for power, performance analysis, debugging and testingMemory management and garbage collectionSecurity and ReliabilityCode analysis and transformations to address security or reliability concernsPractical ExperienceReal dynamic optimization and compilation systems for general purpose, embedded system and HPC platformsApplications of above in emerging technology areas, such asWeb programming environments, application runtimes, optimizationsSOCs, heterogeneous platforms hardware/software co-design, analysis and optimizationImportant DatesAbstract Submission: September 13, 2011Paper Submission: September 20, 2011Author Rebuttal Period: October 23 to 26, 2011Notification to Authors: November 1, 2011http://www.cgo.org/
