Call For Papers - CFP
The 12th joint ACM SIGMETRICS / Performance conference solicits papers on the development and application of state-of-the-art, broadly applicable analytic, simulation and measurement-based performance evaluation techniques. Of particular interest is work that presents new performance evaluation methods or that creatively applies previously developed methods to make predictions about, or gain insights into key design trade-offs in, computer and networked systems. The main conference will last three days, 12-14 June 2012, and have two keynote speakers, to be announced shortly. A day of tutorials will precede and a day of workshops will follow the main conference. The notion of performance is broadly construed - including considerations of speed and scalability as well as reliability, availability, sustainability and manageability of systems. We encourage both theoretical contributions and also submissions relating to real world empirical studies or focusing on implementation and experimental issues.Quantitative design and evaluation studies ofComputer and communication networks, protocols and algorithmsWireless, mobile, ad-hoc, and sensor networksComputer architectures, multi-core processors, memory systems and storage networksOperating systems, file systems and databasesVirtualization and data centersDistributed and cloud computingSocial networks, multimedia systems, service-oriented architectures, and Web servicesEnergy-efficient computing systemsReal-time and fault-tolerant systemsMobile and personal computing systemsSecurity systems and network attacksLarge-scale operational systemsSoftware systems and enterprise applicationsEmerging technologiesMethodologies, formalisms, solution techniques and algorithms forPerformance, scalability, power, and reliability analysisSustainability analysis and power managementCapacity planning, resource allocation, run time management and schedulingAnomaly detectionAnalytical modeling techniques and model validationSystem measurement, monitoring and forecastingWorkload characterization and benchmarkingQuality of service, total cost of ownership and pricingExperimental design, statistical analysis, simulation
