In conjunction with 11th IEEE International Conference on Computer andInformation Technology (CIT 2011)www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/CIT2011Paphos, Cyprus, Aug 31, 2011 - Sep 2, 2011Supported by IEEE Computer SocietyScope:As emerging technologies, Clouds and Service-Oriented Architectures(SOAs) attract attention worldwide, ranging from casual Internet usersto IT giants (e.g. Microsoft and Google). At the same time, theinnovations of Clouds and SOAs also offer many interesting avenues ofresearch for scientific communities. Recent advances in Cloud andSOAs, including computational power, storage, and networking, andinfrastructure innovations, are providing exciting opportunities tomake significant progress in understanding and solving complexreal-world challenges. Such challenges typically require asystem-level approach that models a complex system at different levelsof abstraction, helps to develop sound architectures for addressingseparate system requirements and concerns, and integrates diversesources of knowledge on the system's components and theirinteractions. There are strong needs for improving dependability of service-orientedcomputing to make service-oriented systems more reliable, secure androbust for service provision and delivery. Following the success ofthe first workshop held in 10th IEEE CIT last year, the SecondInternational Workshop on Dependable Service-Oriented and CloudComputing aims at collating efforts and achievements on the researchof system of system engineering for dependable Clouds and SOAs. Thisworkshop will provide a forum to discuss fundamental issues onresearch and development of clouds and service-oriented systems aswell as new challenges in modelling and simulation of novelservice-oriented architectures. The relevant topics include, but notlimited to:* Cloud Computing* Service-Oriented Computing (SOC)* Internet-based Virtual Computing Environment (iVCE)* Grid Computing* Service-Oriented System Engineering (SoSE)* System Engineering for Cloud Computing* Web Services* Peer-to-Peer Computing (P2P)* Service Composition and Integration* Real-time systems* Dependable Cloud Systems* Sensor networks* Industrial Case StudyPaper Submission:Authors are encouraged to submit high-quality, original work that hasneither appeared in, nor is under consideration by, other conferencesand journals. The length of the papers should not exceed 6 pages + 2 pages foroverlength charges (IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscriptsstyle: two columns, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page.
