Deadline: March 20, 2011 | Date: December 05, 2011-December 09, 2011
Venue/Country: Texas, U.S.A
Updated: 2011-03-02 13:30:56 (GMT+9)
Scope of the SymposiumWireless networks are expected to encompass heterogeneous access technologies and the Internet backbone for providing services to both mobile and stationary users. It poses significant technical challenges to enable broadband wireless access with seamless and ubiquitous coverage and quality-of-service provisioning. The objective of this symposium is to serve as an international forum for experts from academia, industry and government to exchange ideas and results on research and development, and to promote and accelerate standardization, applications, and services of current and future wireless networks. Prospective authors are invited to submit original contributions on all aspects of wireless networks, applications and services, including, but not limited to, the following topics of interest. Please note that this symposium focuses on research problems above the physical layer (although papers on cross-layer design/optimization are welcome). Papers solely addressing wirele!ss communications problems at the physical layer should be submitted to other relevant symposia of IEEE GC 2011.List of TopicsWireless access, network architecture, and standardsNetwork architectureNetwork planningBroadband wireless accessCellular networksB3G/4G wireless networksLTE/WiMAX networksWireless ad hoc and mesh networksWireless local area networksWireless personal area networksUltra-wideband networksWireless sensor networksCognitive wireless networksSelf-organizing networksReconfigurable wireless networksMultimode wireless networksVehicular wireless networksHome entertainment networksSmart grid networksHome area networksNeighborhood area networks 60 GHz mmWave networksFemtocell/Picocell NetworksFree Space Optical networksAll-IP networksUbiquitous coverageIntegration of heterogeneous wireless and wireline networksNetwork design, control, and performanceCapacity analysisQuality-of-service provisioningRadio resource allocationMobility, handoff, and location managementMedium access controlTraffic schedulingAccess and admission controlRoutingFlow control and congestion controlEnergy efficiencyNetwork clusteringNetwork performance analysisMultimedia communicationsTraffic modeling and traffic managementCross-layer design and optimizationDistributed control and managementProtocols and algorithmsPower saving protocolsPricing and billingGame theory for wireless networkingExperiments, Applications, and ServicesMultimedia over wireless networksEmerging wireless services and applicationsIPTVMeasurements Testbeds and deploymentWireless network standardization activitiesSymposium Co-ChairsShiwen Mao, Auburn University, USAsmao2011
