Deadline: April 11, 2011 | Date: September 13, 2011-September 16, 2011
Venue/Country: Taipei, Taiwan

BACKGROUNDThe advent of multicore and manycore systems requires that programmersunderstand how to design, write and debug parallel programs effectively. The increased complexity of multi-threaded parallel programming onmulticore platforms requires more insight into program behavior, andnecessitates the use of tools that can support programmers in migratingexisting software to multicore platforms, and in writing new multi-threadedparallel software. Programmers need increasingly sophisticated methodsfor instrumentation, measurement, analysis and modeling of applications. To help software developers embrace the multicore revolution, we needboth sophisticated tools to support parallel software development, and anextensible tool infrastructure that promotes integration of existing and newtools, and simplifies information exchange and access.TOPICSTopics of interest include, but are not limited to* Static and dynamic analysis tools* Instrumentation, measurement, analysis, and modeling of applications* Analysis and visualization tools for assisting programmers with parallelsoftware design* Active testing tools* Applications profiling and performance analysis* Data visualization and analysis infrastructures for interaction of toolsPAPER SUBMISSIONSubmissions should be formatted according to the IEEE standarddouble-column format with a font size 10 pt or larger and are limited to 10pages in length. Submissions should represent original, substantiveresearch results. At least one author of every accepted paper is required toattend the conference in order for the paper to be included in the finalproceedings. Proceedings of the workshop will be published in electronicformat and will be available at the conference. Please use the PSTI2011 CMT webpage athttps://cmt.research.microsoft.com/PSTI2011/
to submit your paper.TOOL DEMONSTRATION SESSIONIn addition to a regular paper session we plan to hold a tooldemonstration session during the workshop in which tool developerscan demonstrate features and functionality of their software tools.A submission for the tool demo session should include a short descriptionof the tool (max. 5 pages) to be sent to fuerling
